Do it afraid!!! 3 ways to standup to fear and ROAR!

*What is the Terror Barrier?

“You will either step forward into Growth, or you will step back into Safety”

Abraham Maslow

To step forward into higher growth you must get emotionally involved in higher ideas, ideas that are not in harmony with your present conditioning.  The higher idea will cause you to experience a foreign vibration (uncomfortable feeling).  It is this feeling of total discomfort you experience that causes you to want to step back into safety, back into your comfort zone.  The uncomfortable feeling registers as self-doubt and turns into fear.  People perceive these feelings as indications of an inability to do what they want to do.  It is never an indicator of that.  This new, foreign vibration is an indication of growth-which you are on track expanding out of your current limitations.  Proceed to the higher level and fear will leave you; it always does as the conditioning changes.

Translation: we always want to remain in what feels safe and comforting to us – especially the older that we get. However, our AUTHENTIC SELF wants us to take risks that stretch us out of our comfort zones and that is GROWTH!!! The part of known as our conditioned self – or ego – strives to keep us safe within what we think feels good to us. This is not a bad thing but it does keep us from moving forward in growth. Remember, we are all to be growing, moving forward – evolving throughout our entire lives!

Part of the reason I am so proud of the class working with me is because they have totally stepped out of their comfort zones. Despite the time, the cost, or any other perceived excuses – that were showing up only as ways to prevent them from taking the class and moving forward, they did it any way – afraid! Kudos to all in my class!

So what is happening in your life? Are you stretching yourself? Are you taking risks?

Or is fear holding you back? In the song by Katy Perry’s entitled “Roar” she sings brilliant lyrics that apply to each of us:

“I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, DANCING THROUGH THE FIRE

‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar

Louder, louder than a lion

‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar”

Here are 3 ways to stand up to fear and ‘roar’:

1)      Remember fear is created by our thoughts. Our minds play tricks on us.

2)      Know you are meant to grow – that means – GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!

3)      If you want something, with no emotional blocks within you holding you back, the Universe will provide it for you if you intend, feel and surrender. What resonates within you manifests IF you believe it.

Here is to miraculous and profound living! Because when we create miraculous and profound living… we create the New Earth!

ADD JOY TO YOUR LIFE!!!

Joy is a vibration within us that has the power to keep us uplifted despite whatever comes our way. It gives us the knowingness that things are well – despite anything that appears to be the opposite in our lives. We can ‘fake it till we make it’ by doing things that help us to be joyful on purpose. So be silly, watch funny movies; laugh as much as you can!

  1. Thanks for an inspiring post to move beyond the comfort zone, Jill. I love how you mention that uncomfortable feelings could translate as self-doubt, but perhaps we could use it as a signal to bring out our courage 🙂

  2. Great Post Jill! 🙂 Yes, we have to use fear as the doorway to growth and expansion! and I LOVE the last quote: Here is to miraculous and profound living! Because when we create miraculous and profound living… we create the New Earth!
    Thanks for sharing!

  3. I love this blog post, Jill – especially the opening quote, “You will either step forward into Growth, or you will step back into Safety.” ~ This is such an important distinction! With every step we take and with every decision we make, it’s important to notice if we’re moving forward or falling back. Chances are – if we’re feeling a bit of fear, we’re moving forward. ~ I’ve been doing a lot of moving forward lately. My “fear trigger” is getting quite a work-out! 😉
